A Taxonomy of Supply Chain Collaboration

Supply chain collaboration has emerged as an important cooperative strategy leading to new focus on interorganisational boundaries as the determinants of performance. Although collaboration increasingly receives great attention both from practitioners and academics, relatively little attention has been given to systematically reviewing the research literature that has appeared about supply chain collaboration. The purpose of this paper is to examine previous studies on supply chain collaboration based on a taxonomy. The proposed taxonomy is composed of four different research streams of describing specific subjects of interorganisational settings, namely information sharing, business processes, incentive schemes, and performance systems. The analysis includes the assessment of research ideas and key findings. Results show the great variability of key concepts across the four components of the taxonomy and an increased awareness of complementarity amongst research streams. Several recommendations for future research are also identified in this paper

How Does Collaborative Inventory Management Make Progress?

Collaborative inventory management (CIM) has revolutionized electronics, textile, apparel, and grocery industries. An intriguing question is how far does the movement of CIM challenge the traditional practice of inventory management? This paper illustrates how to expose and challenge flawed assumptions of traditional inventory management. It also proposes a collaborative replenishment process that consists of a cyclic process of tactical planning, execution, and control. The proposed scheme makes it possible for the chain members to apply collaborative inventory management. The paper also outlines directions for future research

    Rethinking Management of Technology

This paper discusess how management of technology can be made more critical and a new method of reasoning is incorporated into this dicsipline to stimulate more widely application. Management of technology is found as a discipline that practitioners or academics need to have in order to be able to manage and improve technology. It relies on two streams of reasoning called deduction and induction. These two reasoning methods tends to neglect the human need to make sense and therefore fails to stimulate critical thinking of how to extract meaning from complex reality surrounding technology. It is suggested that abduction is the missing link in managemet of technology which is capable to combine the predominant strands of induction and deduction. Based on abductive thinking, TechnoValue is developed as a methodology to gain understanding the general statements when and how new technology creates value to all related stakeholders. Future research is also presented in this paper

Analisis Kolaborasi Coca-Cola Dan Carrefour Dengan Menggunakan Teori Drama

Improving Inventory Management and Supply Chain of Diesel Fuel in Pertamina 5 Main Depots

Planning Operation subdivision at PT Pertamina has to generate supply decisions includingmain depot to supply, supply point and transportation mode. However, the variability inplanning a supply schedule renders the process of determining a supply decision asineffective. The last assessment on uncertainties was done at 2006 and has not beenconsidered during decision making process. On the other hand, the result of this researchindicates that the uncertainty level is too high to be ignored and the poor informationexchange between the regional offices and the head office decreases the Planning Operation\u27sability to create plans that covers the company condition. This paper proposes an appropriatesafety stock to withstand the uncertainties and a supply scheduling process that also considersuncertainties by using Monte-Carlo Simulation with random numbers to simulate the events inthe upcoming period

Partly or totally substitution of cement with another environmentally products in making concrete become the alternative. In this research the composition of the fly ash used as a partial replacement of cement in concrete as much as 40% out of total mass of cement (High Volume Fly Ash Concrete) and then will be compared with normal concrete about the technical characteristics of the two types of concrete. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of partial replacement of cement with fly ash in concrete on technical characteristics of concrete which are specific gravity of concrete, compressive strength of concrete and concrete abrasion. The results obtained by the technical characteristics of concrete at the concrete age of 56 days for normal concrete has an average of specific gravity is 2434.39 kg/m³ with an average of compressive strength is 22.72 MPa and concrete abrasion percentage is 19.74%, for HVFA concrete has an average of specific gravity is 2407.22 kg/m³ with an average of compressive strength of 22.51 MPa and concrete abrasion percentage is 20.12%. The result of this research shows that the effect of the partial replacement of cement with fly ash in concrete produce the technical characteristics of concrete which are specific gravity of concrete, compressive strength of concrete and concrete abrasion are similliar with the technical characteristics of normal concrete

The Application of a Decision-making Approach Based on Fuzzy ANP and TOPSIS for Selecting a Strategic Supplier

Supplier selection becomes very important when used in the context of strategic partnerships because of the long-term orientation of the relationship. This paper describes the application of a decision-making approach for selecting a strategic partner (supplier). The approach starts with defining a set of criteria that fits the company's condition. In the next steps, a combination of fuzzy-ANP and TOPSIS methods is used to determine the weight for each criterion and rank all the alternatives. The application of the approach in an Indonesian manufacturing company showed that the three factors that got the highest weight were “geographical location”, “current operating performance”, and “reliability”. Geographical location got the highest weight because it affects many other factors such as reaction to changes in demand, after-sales service, and delivery lead-time. Application of the approach helps decision-makers to gain effectiveness and efficiency in the decision-making process because it facilitates them to express their group's collective preferences while also providing opportunities for members to express their individual preferences. Future research can be directed at combining qualitative and quantitative criteria to develop the best criteria and methods for the selection of the best suppliers based on fuzzy ANP and TOPSIS
